Monday, June 2nd 2008 - Albemarle, NC - Bill Lawhon, President and Chief Executive Officer of Bank of Stanly, is pleased to announce the following recent officer appointments by the Bank of Stanly Board of Directors. Tammie Aldridge was named Vice President and Branch Leader of the Norwood Office, located in southern Stanly County. Tammie began her career with Bank of Stanly in November, 1986, in the teller and customer service area, and has continued her career path in the retail area as account executive and lender in both the Albemarle and Norwood communities, until recently assuming the responsibilities of the overall management and profitability of the Norwood Office.
Tammie is a graduate of South Stanly High School and is a native of Stanly County, where she now continues to live with her sons, Adam and Alan. She currently holds her North Carolina Life Insurance license, and has attended various American Institute of Banking (AIB) courses, Credit Risk Management School and the North Carolina Bankers Association Consumer Lending School in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. She is an active charter member of the Tillery Area Civitan Club in Norwood.
Michelle Carver, named Assistant Vice President and Corporate Secretary of Bank of Stanly, began with Bank of Stanly in 2000 as a customer service representative, before moving into the commercial lending area. In addition to her roles as corporate secretary and customer service staffing coordinator, Michelle works closely with both consumer and commercial lending customers as an account executive in the Main Office, located in Albemarle.
Michelle is a graduate of South Stanly High School, obtained her Administrative Assistant Certificate from King’s College, and is a recent graduate of Stanly Community College with an Associate’s Degree in Business Administration. In 2008, she completed the Leadership Stanly program, and is active in the community with her church and as a volunteer with the Dixie Youth Softball league. She lives in the Norwood area with her husband, Roger, and step-daughter, Samantha Carver.
Allen Furr, named Vice President, will continue his primary focus in the area of business development, commercial and consumer lending, located at the Main Office in Albemarle. He began his financial services career in the mortgage area with Bank of Stanly in 2002, before moving into the retail banking and commercial banking areas in 2004.
Allen is a native of Albemarle, and a graduate of Albemarle High School. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Textile Management from North Carolina State University in 2001, and is currently in his fourth year of the North Carolina School of Banking in Chapel Hill. He is active in the company as a co-captain for the Bank of Stanly American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life team and as committee chair for the Uwharrie Capital Corp Young Adult Leaders Committee, and in the community as a United Way of Stanly County board member. Allen, his wife, Jenny, and their daughter, Addison, make their home in the New London area.
Eddie Wall, Jr. was named Assistant Vice President and Account Executive, and is presently located at the East Albemarle Office. Eddie joined Bank of Stanly in 2005 in a management trainee role upon completing his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business and Marketing from Catawba College. In this role, Eddie participated in various training opportunities throughout the bank and holding company, including retail and consumer banking, operations and collections. His focus today continues to be primarily in the business development and consumer lending areas.
Eddie is a native of Albemarle and graduated from Albemarle High School. He is active in the company as a co-captain for the Bank of Stanly American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life team and is a member of the Uwharrie Capital Corp Young Adult Leaders Committee. Eddie takes an active leadership role in the community, serving as Chamber Ambassador, as a board member for the Arts Council, Title One and the Snow Globe Foundation, Inc., and provides vital leadership and coordination for the C.R.E.E.D. (Community Refinement through Economic Empowerment & Development) Coalition in the South Albemarle community. Eddie and his fiancé, Ashley McMillan, will be married in June and will make their home in Albemarle.
